There's a complete lack of understanding of what makes horror in silent house. After about twenty minutes the emotional peak has been hit and it never shifts, it’s an exhausting experience and a dull one at that. Even the magnificent Elizabeth Olsen doesn't emerge unscathed. Add on top of that the whole 'one take' blurb, its clearly a technical exercise designed to mask the sheer nonsense that this film is.
