A fun sequel that is about 15-minutes too long in the second act.

Nearly 25-years after release, "Tremors" firmly cements its status as a bona fide B-movie classic. A great mix of humor and a few genuine jumps, all works thanks to a workmanlike script and a eclectic, skilled cast. The sequels (all three) go on to defy all odds and remain wholly entertaining.

Despite being a bit bloated as a whole, the sequel is a marked improvement over the pleasing, but inconsistent original. Deliriously self-aware (Lundgren's character's background is 100% based on Lundgren himself) and serious when needed, the film is easily Simon West's best outing as a director and hopefully, if the rumors of a third are true, he's kept on board.

Self-indulgent, light on action, and tasteless at times, the film survives solely on it's weird nature and strong lead performances.
