I can easily see why some would dislike Under the Skin. I admit that even I have to be in the right mood for these types of films, otherwise I just find them extremely dull.
While it wasn't a "fun" watch, I found it to be very mesmerising and beautifully shot. The score was perfect too. And as for Scarlett... incredible!
I think it definitely needs multiple viewings before I fully understand it though. Overall, this is one blind-buy I wasn't at all disappointed with.
Surprised to say I actually found this to be quite entertaining. Thankfully it wasn't a straight up remake, so it wasn't as predictable as I'd expected. The action was pretty well done and therefore a lot of fun, although a sprinting RoboCop did look somewhat ridiculous. An enjoyable ride overall.
As expected, The Wolf of Wall Street is an incredible film. Dare I say, it's possibly Scorsese's most entertaining (and without a doubt funniest) film to date. As usual, DiCaprio gives it his all and delivers a stellar performance, as do the rest of the cast. So, you may ask, why didn't I give it the full 5 stars? And the answer would be: continuity errors! There's one at every turn, and they're quite noticeable, too. From a broken glass…
