yeah but everything in my top 3 is interchangeable, I mean they are so close that it really couldve been Dark Knight at #1.... either way Gran Torino was a great film! Why the hate for it?
To me it's like a bad Afterschool Special. Most of the kids are terrible actors, the moral lesson (racist guy learns about tolerance) is too obvious, and for GOD'S SAKE did he have to croak a theme song over the end credits?
I don't know, I get why people like it I guess, but it rubbed me the wrong way pretty much from the very beginning.
It was a story of redemption. Simple as that for me. I loved the storyline, acting and filmmaking. And you are in the minority as it is a pretty highly rated movie with quite a few accolades. We can agree to disagree??
GRAN TORINO over THE DARK KNIGHT? You are nuts, my friend!

People sure do seem to like it, I'll give you that. It's a mystery to me!
I loved Gran Torino. It was hilarious to me even though it's a serious film. I wouldn't put it over TDK though.
I wouldn't put it over TDK either but it made my top 10 that year also. Most people liked it but Jason.
