Timecrimes has its charm, and is enormously enjoyable, but once you grasp the concept of the film (pretty early) it's just an exercise in doing exactly what you expect. And because the premise means that you see all the marks it's going to hit in advance it has little room to surprise you. Still, a cool concept well executed will always be an enjoyable film. And Timecrimes has something special I can't put my finger on that totally makes up for being a step or two ahead of it as a viewer.
