Owen Hughes’s review:
Part of my 5 Films From Each Year of the Past 90 Years I Want To See list, that was conveniently posted to me by Lovefilm recently!
I don't think it was his most clever film, nor his funniest, but as has happened with every Chaplin film I've seen so far, it has at least one scene of real quality. Here, it happens to be the boxing match. It was both hilarious and extremely well choreographed.
It is slightly more weighted in the romance area than comedy compared to the others I've seen. I would've liked more laughs really, but it was such a nice little film I can hardly hold that against it.
