I could barely remember anything about this movie when I sat down to watch it, but it was worse than I remembered it being.

I'm still not fond of the movie's interpretation of "Rogue" and Wolverine should have a mask. It's just silly that through the whole series of films he doesn't wear a mask! I suppose the bonus of having someone like Hugh Jackman in the role is that you have a good looking guy to draw in the audience, so covering him up would not go down well, but as a comic-book nerd, I really would like to see him with a spandex mask on........

Ahem.

It has some nice special effects (Mystique in particular) and the feeling you get from watching it is somewhat darker than that of its successors. But the characters are pretty bland and the story just feels like a prelude to the next film. It's only about 10 years old but even so, in that short space of time, it hasn't aged well at all.
