This list is by no means comprehensive. I have just cobbled together over 100 films that are either [adapted from / based on / inspired by] comic books, are superhero films, include some kind of masked vigilante or hero, or all of the above, that I have seen.

Where possible, I'll include a link to my review of each film in the notes, complete with a mark out of 10. The score resembles how "good" I thought the film was, where as this list is more in order of preference (eg, it might be the case that a 7/10 film (The Amazing Spider-Man) might be a above a 7.5/10 film (Kick Ass). This isn't a reflection of how much better one film is than the other, more that one is favourable to the other.) It's a shame that Letterboxd doesn't cater for the ".5" scoring system. Maybe we should be able to score films with quarter stars as well as half stars? A discussion for another time, I feel!

Some of these might be contentious choices (the DC Showcase shorts, "manga" adaptations, Super etc) but I thought it would still be helpful to somebody (particularly myself!) to just compile all these into one list. You can label it however you like!

Finally, if you have any recommendations at all, please post them in the comments! I'm always on the look out for more - although I am already aware, by the way, that Blade Trinity, Chronicle, and Mask of the Phantasm are missing! That is on purpose as I haven't actually seen them yet.
