Danny Boyle Ranked
Originally created this list in honour of the Olympics, of which the opening ceremony was on the day after, which Danny Boyle directed.
This was the first of my "directors ranked" series, which has grown into the list posted below. Whilst my favourite film of Boyle's changes regularly, one thing that's stayed the same is that he's consistently made innovative and original films that are entertaining. Based on the evidence I have, I don't think he's made a bad film. Even the London 2012 opening ceremony, Isles of Wonder, (which I expected to be an utter shambles (not just in comparison to the marvel that was the Beijing opening ceremony)) he even made into something extraordinary.
There are still 3 films of his missing here that I must get around to at some point; The Beach, A Life Less Ordinary and Millions. I will see them eventually but I can only rank the films I've seen!
So, for now, here are the 7 films of his that I've seen and in order of favourite to least favourite - although they're all very good in their own way.
My ranked lists of other directors:
Stanley Kubrick
Martin Scorsese
Steven Spielberg
George A Romero
Christopher Nolan
Quentin Tarantino
Alfred Hitchcock
Steven Soderbergh
