Zombie films

Just compiling a list of zombie films, of varying quality, in no particular order, that I've seen/written reviews for. Some are not strictly speaking zombie films (I Am Legend, 28 Days Later, Army of Darkness/Evil Dead, The Crazies etc) but it's my list. I'll add what I like.

And if you don't mind me plugging a podcast I'm a part of, we did a special episode specifically talking about zombies in film here: failedcritics.com/2012/11/21/failed-critics-review-zombie-special/

  • Nice list. Any reason why only 2 of the Resident Evil films are on it tho?

  • Cheers. Yeah, it's just a list of zombie films that I've actually seen, and those 2 RE films are the only ones in the series I've had the misfortune of watching!

  • One really shouldn't miss is "Fido"

  • Unfortunately, I'm afraid it is missing from my list, but I'll check it out. From the description on imdb, t sounds... interesting!

  • Maybe you could help me, Owen. I remember watching a "dead" film which starts in a mortuary. I think they burn something (a body perhaps) which releases something into the air and the bodies in the cemetary next door start to come out of the ground. I think it might be a Romero Dead film, but am not sure. Does what I mentioned ring any bells?

  • Sounds like Night of the Living Dead 3D (the remake from late 2000's) which is dreadful. A Romero remake in name only!

If what you're talking about is what I think it is, then that is it. :-)

  • It is from the 80s, I am fairly sure...

  • Just checked your list and I am fairly sure the film I am thinking about is The Return of the Living Dead. I remember Quigley being in it.

  • In which case yeah, definitely Return of the Living Dead. I don't know why but I interpreted your question as being related to a modern zombie film. No idea how that happened!
