Overly convoluted, chock full of holes and all a bit too convenient, this is nevertheless an enjoyable thriller purely for the fact Denzel (and a likeable turn from Eva Mendes) raises it up to be so. The best thing about this film is the colour palette, you see it and immediately think 'Florida'. Carl Franklin directed this nearly 10 years ago now and his previous movies are pretty solid (One False Move, Devil in a Blue Dress), one wonders why he hasn't directed a film since?
