Look here, I don't hate romance movies at all. I mean I love the most awesome romance in cinema history; Maverick and Iceman from Top Gun. But this movie has so many things going against it that I just threw my hands in the air in disgust each time these two vile creatures of the netherworld got back together for no reason why but codependency and dysfunction. In my opinion these two are perfect for each other, no really. These 2 are the most dysfunctional bunch I have ever seen. If they loved each other so badly why didn't Jacob quit his wood shopping job and marry Anna? If they loved each other so much, why did they cheat on each other? If they loved each other so much why did they broke up after one very childish argument? To be quite frank, if they loved each other why didn't one of them break it off? The answer is simple; they don't. They just don't. They may think they love each other, but they don't. In fact I believe Anna was the one that suggested dating other people during their separation, which tells me that their relationship wasn't that strong to begin with.
Other than being the worst love story of all time, the movie goes out of it's way that there is such a thing as destiny. How else can you explain the magic behind both of their breakups, especially with Jacob and Samantha? BECAUSE THE MOVIE DEMANDS SO! OBEY ZOD! Not only that, this movie shakes the camera too much, the sets are boring, and plus it's pretentious as all hell with it's horrible message of not moving on. Ok, there are cases that some ex-couples can't move on without each other in the real world sometimes. Love isn't logical sometimes, hell most of the time. But you know what? Why tease the audience with the other relationships they had with the other two if you were just going to cop out with them getting back together in the end? To screw with the audience. Also the ending does not do any justice or brings any closure to the movie or the relationship between Jacob and Anna, in fact it hinted that they were going to break up YET AGAIN. MY GAWWDD! I'm sorry if I sound too harsh, and unless I am missing the point with this movie this is by far the worst romance movie ever. It's sad, depressing, and it flip flops during it's 90 minute plus showing. Just like a real healthy relationship right? NOT! The only reason I give this movie any stars is Jennifer Lawrence, my god is she gorgeous. I need her like crazy. Bye bye for now.
