This is a god movie. The story of how the X-Men began, and how Charles and Eric drifted apart to in two different directions.
Now that that's out of the way, this film is also an example of why it's so hard to make good comic book movies. X-Men: First Class suffers from what I call the Avengers effect, where the whole time you are looking for references to other movies, and tips to where they are taking the overall story. I didn't see much of that, and I have a feeling it was because the first three X-Men movies were done before they started with this film universe, so there was no need for cohesion like there is in the Avengers movies.
