Paul Corupe’s review:
Decent Peckinpah western features aging western stars Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea as aging gunfighters hired to transport gold from a mining camp back to town. Young upstart Heck Longtree (Ron Starr) is also along for the ride, and hopes to get with a young girl (Mariette Hartley) who joins their journey to marry her slimy sweetheart panhandler. Great cinematography and a rock solid story fuel this ode to the genre, which features a typically Peckinpah story about good and evil in the revisionist-charged 1960s.
