As director, Clint reinvented Dirty Harry seven years later with this dark installment that often feels like another script with Harry’s character tacked on. No matter, because the story, about a woman getting revenge on her rapists, is poignant and even the unorthodox (but predictable) love story between the two can be overlooked. Set in a small town rather than SF, it often feels like Play Misty for Me.
