Intriguing, atmospheric, abstract, impressionistic, dark, subversive with a tinge of David Lynch's demented humor. The script borders on the ridiculous but manages not to go over the edge. This film is experienced understood. Expect the unexpected as in most of Lynch's films. I particularly like the visuals. There is something very studied about the frame composition, color and set design of each shot that works beautifully with the action, music and dialogue. This is a very well conceived film in its totality.
