I remember The Guardian described this film as a "100-minute commercial for men's ­cologne", and then called it: "Bereavement by Dior". But despite there being a certain degree of truth in their cheeky remarks, 'A Single Man' is far more then just superficialities. Tom Ford has made a brave, elegant and emotional debut. Some great performances, beautiful shots, and a stirring soundtrack all make for a wonderful film that comes highly recommended.
