A breath of fresh air in the rather stagnant world of the formulaic superhero movie.

You could argue that if you scrape away at the surface of Kick-Ass it's still a regular-enough superhero origin story but Matthew Vaughn creates a world with characters who are far more interesting and a lot more fun then 'magical hammers' or 'radioactive spiders'. Kick-Ass is brought to life with some wonderful performances too and comes well recommended.
