The pacing feels really jumpy in this movie, which I have to guess is intentional, given the frenemies dynamic between Woody and Wesley's characters. But I found that made it hard to stay fully engaged, not being entirely clear where this movie was going. Rosie Perez's Jeopardy subplot is a highlight, and ultimately a metaphor for what the movie is going for (I think): everyone gambles and takes monetary risks to stay afloat, regardless of one's hobbies or passions.

Just My Luck 2006
The most positive thing I can say about this movie is it just absolutely breezes through its plot - just a lean, tight script.
Also this movie really lobbied hard for Chris Pine as the next Peter Parker post-Raimi trilogy huh? Makes it funnier that he ends up voicing him in Into the Spider-Verse

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night 2014
I liked this movie but it was not what I expected when first going in. This felt like Jim Jarmusch with shades of westerns and 50s greasers - and typically I enjoy his films with their slow pacing and moody long shots. On the plus side, skateboarding vampire!
