Phil Newton’s review published on Letterboxd:
American Sniper depicts the true life story of Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) a wannabe cowboy who after the attacks of 9/11 becomes a US Navy Seal, and after four tours of Iraq is noted as the sniper with the most certified kills. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film is unfussy and concise in telling Kyle's story - although it does sag markedly in the middle section. A beefed up Cooper is excellent in the lead role.
