Ayaka squares up against the gang who killed her father and abducted her younger sister in order to protect the black belt of her family’s Karate dynasty. The film is a showcase for High Kick Girl and Karate champion Rina Takeda, who’s obvious skill impresses – as does her co-star Hina Tobimatsu who also gets plenty of the action – but whilst the no wires, no CGI approach is to be applauded, more time is needed on a woefully underwritten script and the most basic of narratives.
