Paranormal Activity 2 2010

Phil Newton’s review:
Acting as a prequel to the events in the first film this is very much an origin story, with the focus this time on Katie’s sister and her family, with their house under attack from some kind of demon. Much like the first film this is a one trick pony - cameras on, everything goes quiet, wait for the shock moments. And sure, it works, but there’s nothing new here. That said, the characters are slightly easier to empathise with and having a sassy daughter, young baby, and alsatian in the mix adds to the dynamics of the story. Effective enough, but please don’t let this turn into another never-ending franchise like the Saw films!
