Summer Wars 2010

Phil Newton’s review:
Young Kenji is doing Natsuki a favour by posing as her boyfriend at her Granny's birthday. Whilst negotiating the family gathering he's also called on to help vanquish an evil program which has hijacked the virtual world of Oz and is threatening to cause a nuclear explosion! The animation in Summer Wars rivals the best work of Miyazaki, especially when bringing Oz to life, but it's the story that really makes this such a winner. On one hand you've got the excitement and action of Kenji rallying his troops to try and save Japan, on the other you have this heartwarming slice of family drama which gives out such a good message to young and old alike.
