On the eve of his eleventh birthday, after a spate of peculiarities that haunted his cousin's birthday and carpeted his aunt and uncle's living room in identical owl-delivered letters, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is visited by half-giant Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane). Told that he is a wizard and invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry sets off on the first of many adventures with new friends Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) by his side.
