I was all too ready to support seeing Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan sitting there in a train over and over again, if the intriguing-sounding sci-fi story kept me hooked despite the predictablity of it all. It didn't.

Could've been so much better. The film tried to take off with a very timely and actually genius sci-fi concept, and ended up suffering terribly from plentiful weaknesses in story and execution. Plus who put the beautiful Amanda Seyfried in that horrible wig?

Got plenty of eye-dazzling locales that give thrilling sequences, but that also removes the magical ingredient that made its predecessor a hit: good old-fashioned heart and a lovable small-town Americana soul. More about the visuals than the story. Shame.
