  • Detachment 2011

    ★★★★ Watched 15 Jul, 2012

Coming under the premise of "hard hitting drama" hits the nail bang on the head. Following the story of Adrian Brodys substitute teacher in a new school is a relentless story of sad times and unfortunate events. Brody is phenomenal, the best I have seen him and comes with an incredible supporting cast. William Peterson, James Caan, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks and Lucy Liu. Harrowing in tone but performances so powerful it will stick with you. Brilliant

  • Seeking a Friend for the End of the World 2012

Love Steve Carell and not the biggest fan of Keira Knightley. Didn't hear to much about this before having seen it so went into it with a pretty open mind and it was pretty good. Carell shone through big time and even Knightley wasnt annoying ! really nice film with some lovely messages throughout

I dont think any review could do the content of this film justice if im being honest. A mind fuck if ever their was one, hard to believe a film so old could have pushed so many boundaries. For how it looks it certainly doesnt feel 35 years old

Through the hype surrounding The Dark Knight Rises I have been revisiting Nolans work. This for me stands equally as good as anything else he has ever done and is probably the most under rated of all his films. 3 brilliant central performances and incredible cinematography make for a modern classic in my eyes.
