I agree with your statement but not the score attached to it.

Falls into a ton of pitfalls I expect modern Blockbusters to have learned from. Still mildly entertaining.
Rick Vance commented on rot’s review of Primer
The dramatic nuance of Primer is actually what keeps me coming back after the first viewing over the science.
The Time Travel becomes a facilitator for insane drama because once you understand what is going on it calls into questions every single word out of everyone's mouth and every decision for the run time.
Welp I am off to re-watch it again.

The Shining 1980
Seeing this on the big screen changes it. I have never been able to watch this movie with the audio turned up as much as it is in a theater. The background audio becomes an oppressive force in the movie along with everything else and it really amplifies the film.

Entertaining enough but 30 minutes in I just wanted to watch The Shining instead.

Carpenter seems to be the only guy making Apocalyptic movies who understands the fundamental truth about them and the word. Shit does not get better at the end of them, it may change it may grow new but that which existed before is wiped out.
Also Sam Neill is great but you didn't need me to tell you that.

Rick Vance commented on Andrew James’s review of Pain & Gain
It just reminded me a lot of Fargo.
Rick Vance commented on Andrew James’s review of Pain & Gain
That is actually why the humor worked for me is that it was all in character with how those three guys were portrayed.
Rick Vance commented on Andrew James’s review of Pain & Gain
I predict in a couple of years you will love this movie. It has hidden Coen potential.
