Django Unchained 2012
Loved the pure Western indulgence of this film and the brutally honest portrayal of gun-loving, nigger hating ole U.S. of A. Christoph Waltz clearly making a deal with Tarantino that this film will show him as a 'good' German. A cynical evaluation might even ponder whether this is the best backdrop to make the German the most humane character we meet... Best quotes: "My calibrations are flippin pinpoint," and "There is no sense in nonsense."

Bridesmaids 2011
I liked it. More than I thought I would. Wanted to slap the woman in the face a few times though. Is this a trend of female leads that have nothing to complain about and yet they whinge like mad incessantly?

Blue Valentine 2010
Like watching a car crash but with phenomenally good actors. Loved the theme of broken relationship and the inevitable doom of the future struck a melancholy chord. I've often wondered if we are destined to become our parents despite all our best efforts, so the film kinds spoke to me on that level...
