Great performances especially from Penn, who courageously takes on the role of a mentally disabled person whilst acting in many scenes with actual disabled people. Dakota Fanning is also brilliant at only 6 at conveying a range of complicated emotions and she's unbelievably sweet to boot. Sure it's a bit sappy but its also heartfelt and thought provoking, definitely worth a watch.
