Not your typical gung-ho hero war picture, it's more concerned with the effects of battle on a group of fliers. Gregory Peck is good, if a little stiff, and Dean Jagger won the Supporting Actor Oscar for what is only mediocre work. Overall, though, the film is intelligent and well-made.

Right wing conspiracy theory wrapped up in leftover scenes from "The Manchurian Candidate". Not even the powerhouse combo of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward can save this one from mediocrity.

Plays like a slick, occasionally gory car commercial; stylishly directed, but Gosling's blank expression and stretches of silence left me wanting more. Albert Brooks deserved his accolades for his fine work, but Carey Mulligan was utterly wasted.
