The Ten Greatest Films Of All Time
Every ten years since 1952, Sight & Sound magazine has published a list of the greatest films of all time, as selected by a cohort of professional critics (more info: old.bfi.org.uk/sightandsound/polls/topten/). After a LOT of agonising, here's what I voted for in the 2012 poll, the results of which will be published in September.

Here's hoping The Master might rival TWBB...
Nice list. I've got some watching to do.
So Cinema Paradiso and Mulholland Drive have been bumped? Or is your favourites list different criteria to this greatest list?
I did wonder about that distinction - they're definitely two different things. But yeah, I got rid of those two. Paradiso because I think the Morricone soundtrack was making me overvalue it, and also because the (pretty bad) director's cut shows up flaws in the original. And Mulholland Drive because you can't have two ladies-who-might-be-the-same-lady films on the list and Persona just came as such a gut punch I couldn't not include it.
Love the inclusion of There Will Be Blood, quite a brave choice, critics are usually too scared to put in recent films.
