A pretty decent drama that manages its sentimentality well for the most part, although a couple of its efforts at dealing with difficult subjects don't always quite sit right. Michael Caine's performance was wonderful and certainly worthy of his second Academy Award, while Tobey Maguire was very likeable as ever as the lead, although between how much I loved the first two Spider-man movies and Pleasantville, I may be a tad biased on that one.
