  • American Hustle 2013

    ★★★ Watched 06 Apr, 2014

American Hustle starts in beautiful 70s-80s scenery. Actors are talented, but most of their accents sucked ass in this film. The plot is nice yet unnecessarily messy. The craziness is a tad confusing, but really loved the black humor in here and there.

I guess we'll never know how the ice fishing story ends.

  • Rust and Bone 2012

    ★★★ Watched 03 Apr, 2014

Don't judge the book by its cover - this film is the opposite of its cover image. Was surprised the rawness and boldness of the film. Really liked the tragic stories around characters, but was quite anxious about the problems they both and their families had.

Great film about life and its surprises. Nothing that bad to say. Lead female actor Marion Cotillard seems like a good guy, she said in an interview that she didn't like to act the part in the amusement park, because she's against whale and sea mammal captivity. Nice film, but expected more 'love story' and didn't quite get it.

  • The ABCs of Death 2013

    ★★½ Watched 02 Apr, 2014

Really weird to watch so many movies inside one film. Japanese stuff were grossly funny, yet extremely stupid and weird - as usual. Weird mindfuck and can't really review this film as one. Kinda liked it, kinda very skippable stuff...

  • Supernova 2000

    Watched 29 Mar, 2014

Started as promising, but ended up being too similar to other these kind of space films. Predictable plot, not very interesting characters, unknown actors (except Robert Foster, Angela Bassett and Robin Tunney who are all quite good). Liked the suspense, visuals and space, but didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting...

  • Now You See Me 2013

    ★★★★ Watched 29 Mar, 2014

I'm not sure why I liked it, because I'm well aware of the plot holes and irrational scenes. However, I like most of the actors, Mark Ruffalo and Woody Harrelson are my favourites. Actors did a good job in my opinion. The comedy of the film got me for some reason. This film is also entertaining, like watching a dumb magic show.

Yes, it was visually great. I also loved first three episodes of Star Wars and Avatar so I…

  • 20 Feet from Stardom 2013

    ★★★ Watched 28 Mar, 2014

Amazing singers. I was blown away especially when listening to Lisa Fischer do her vocalization sessions. Gives me shivers. I would have liked to know more about the singers themselves, not about some weird fame goal that obviously was not what some of the singers were looking for in the first place. Overally great, different music documentary.

  • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 27 Mar, 2014

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is great visually. The film takes you to an adventure and if you don't get to go in real life at least you'll have this film. Would have been nice if there was more of the fun dreaming sequences, but nevertheless this is a fun and beautiful piece to watch.

  • The Book Thief 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 25 Mar, 2014

The Book Thief is awesome, vivid and beautiful story based on Germany of World War II. Loved the melancholy and atmosphere. Not much bad to say about this film.

  • The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 2013

    Watched 23 Mar, 2014

With low expectations The Hobbit part 2 is very enjoyable fantasy film. However I was still disappointed with the dragdown plot. Great film overall. To be continued.

  • My Life Without Me 2003

    ★★★½ Watched 16 Mar, 2014

Great reminder about life and death. Thought provoking film with good acting. Loved Sarah Polley, Scott Speedman and Mark Ruffalo. One of the few sad films that are not jerking tears in every corner - really liked the positive factor in death.

  • Out of the Furnace 2013

    ★★½ Watched 15 Mar, 2014

Out of the Furnace is watchable, compelling and exiting, but falls short in plot and character development. Only brothers' roles 'click', but others are very unattached. The relationship between Whitaker's and Zaldana's characters are not beliavable in any way. The second half drags slow and everything gets almost unbearable boring. Other than these minor downsides the film is pretty good. Nothing to be remembered of though.

  • To Die For 1995

    ★★★ Watched 09 Mar, 2014

Solid, refreshing 90s film. Really loved Nicole Kidman of that era. The plot is not interesting enough, but contains enough tension, humor and twists to be overally quite entertaining.
