  • A Million Ways to Die in the West 2014

    ★★★½ Watched 07 Sep, 2014

I like Seth MacFarlane an his stuff. Ted was hilarious. This film is quite light, but different and solid funny film. One star specifically for including Doc in the film, as a fan I just loved that little detail. Liam Neeson, Giovanni Ribisi, Amanda Seyfried, Charlize Theron and Neil Patrick Harris were good company for an hour and a half. Tried too much or not, I liked this film and got really entertained.

  • The Raid 2 2014

    ★★★★½ Watched 07 Sep, 2014

The sequel of The Raid is definitely better than the first movie. More plot, more action, more fighting. This is IT. Gore, blood spilled, raw action, nothing is missing from this film. Iko Uwais is the new Bruce Lee. A very masterfully crafted action film. I would say this is one of the best action films of this era. Highly recommended.

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2014

    ★★★ Watched 01 Sep, 2014

Slightly better than the first movie. The action is too numbing to my taste and Captain America is maybe the least favourite super hero to watch in my book, don't know why exactly. Well spent two hours with great actors and surprisingly unpredictable plot, but a tad bit overrated.

  • Oculus 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 01 Sep, 2014

Oculus is a really interesting fresh horror film. I really like films with mirrors and this reminds me a bit of The Brøken, which I liked. The film is nicely told with all the flashbacks to the past smoothly transitioned to the scenes. Liked the nightmarish, monotonic soundtrack and the quite original considering the used theme. Great, unexpected thrills.

  • Forks Over Knives 2011

    ★★½ Watched 30 Aug, 2014

Nice try. It becomes clear very quickly what the message is with this film. Eat plants, it makes you healthy. That's a good thing, I know it, but being a poor eater myself I really think as long as you eat moderately and proper food without over-eating you'll be just fine. Dumping every animal based food doesn't magically solve everything and guarantee long lasting life, I'm sorry, but each one of us can get hit by a bus any time…

  • Jack 1996

    ★★★½ Watched 19 Aug, 2014

Robin Williams was a big part of my childhood through this film and many others. This time I watched Jack with slightly different state of mind. The ending really got me.

Please, don't worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this Earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star streaks through…

  • Open Grave 2013

    ★★★ Watched 17 Aug, 2014

Original, suspenseful, interesting. Loved the mysteriousness, but in some point everything became too clear too soon. Decent acting. Some parts predictable, but overally good mystery-horror film. Easily forgettable.

  • Joe 2013

    ★★★★ Watched 17 Aug, 2014

Joe is rough and depressive film. One of the few modern movies where Nicolas Cage seems to really succeed with his acting. The melancholic state and a discreet soundtrack are really effective and cause nice thrills throughout the movie. A very good real life drama.

  • 21 & Over 2013

    Watched 08 Aug, 2014

Not funny. Didn't laugh once. Extremely annoying main characters, weak plot, stupid stuff. Almost unbearable towards the ending.

  • Devil's Knot 2013

    ★★★ Watched 06 Aug, 2014

If you have seen the Paradise Lost and West from Memphis documentaries this drama film doesn't bring anything new to the table. Some parts are even direct reimaginations from the situations in the documentaries. Overally good film, but quite lazy adaptation. I kinda liked it nevertheless.

  • Dark Tide 2012

    ★★ Watched 03 Aug, 2014

Halle Berry forgot to act and where's the plot? Not the worst film I've seen, obviously, because I watched it through. Had a few moments, but that's it. Nothing much more to say about this film.

  • The Sea Inside 2004

    ★★★½ Watched 30 Jul, 2014

Sampedro's story is interesting and thought-provoking. Alejandro Amenábar's Mar Adentro is terrific drama film. Never gets boring. Jabier Bardem and Belén Rueda are my favourite spanish actors. Great drama film that keeps you thinking about the subject long after watching. Easily recommended true story.
