  • Jack 1996

    ★★★½ Watched 19 Aug, 2014

Robin Williams was a big part of my childhood through this film and many others. This time I watched Jack with slightly different state of mind. The ending really got me.

Please, don't worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this Earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star streaks through…

  • Open Grave 2013

    ★★★ Watched 17 Aug, 2014

Original, suspenseful, interesting. Loved the mysteriousness, but in some point everything became too clear too soon. Decent acting. Some parts predictable, but overally good mystery-horror film. Easily forgettable.

  • Joe 2013

    ★★★★ Watched 17 Aug, 2014

Joe is rough and depressive film. One of the few modern movies where Nicolas Cage seems to really succeed with his acting. The melancholic state and a discreet soundtrack are really effective and cause nice thrills throughout the movie. A very good real life drama.

  • 21 & Over 2013

    Watched 08 Aug, 2014

Not funny. Didn't laugh once. Extremely annoying main characters, weak plot, stupid stuff. Almost unbearable towards the ending.

  • Devil's Knot 2013

    ★★★ Watched 06 Aug, 2014

If you have seen the Paradise Lost and West from Memphis documentaries this drama film doesn't bring anything new to the table. Some parts are even direct reimaginations from the situations in the documentaries. Overally good film, but quite lazy adaptation. I kinda liked it nevertheless.

  • Dark Tide 2012

    ★★ Watched 03 Aug, 2014

Halle Berry forgot to act and where's the plot? Not the worst film I've seen, obviously, because I watched it through. Had a few moments, but that's it. Nothing much more to say about this film.

  • The Sea Inside 2004

    ★★★½ Watched 30 Jul, 2014

Sampedro's story is interesting and thought-provoking. Alejandro Amenábar's Mar Adentro is terrific drama film. Never gets boring. Jabier Bardem and Belén Rueda are my favourite spanish actors. Great drama film that keeps you thinking about the subject long after watching. Easily recommended true story.

  • First Snow 2006

    ★★½ Watched 27 Jul, 2014

First Snow is slow and tedious thriller without many thrills. Guy Pearce is not in his best and his charactter is a very contradictory asshole. The film keeps you guessing but the choices are disappointments one after another. Watchable overall, but very forgettable film all in all.

  • Divergent 2014

    ★★★ Watched 26 Jul, 2014

Reminds me a lot from Hunger Games, so much it's sometimes irritating. Solid scifi-drama-teenager-romance-mumbo-jumbo, but I quite enjoyed watching with my wife. She liked it more than me. Not great, not that bad either. One of those films you can't really say much about, but they are great fun nevertheless.

  • Heaven Is for Real 2014

    ★★★ Watched 26 Jul, 2014

Interesting drama. After all it's based on true story. Interesting tale about belief, about religion and christianity. Quite slow paced and ordinary, but thought provoking story. Kinda liked it.

  • Odd Thomas 2013

    ★★★★½ Watched 26 Jul, 2014

I wasn't expecting much and I knew nothing about Odd Thomas before hand (sometimes best way to watch movies in my opinion). The film really surprised me. A quite simple idea, but captivating production that kept me hooked till the credits. Got so into it I cried like a baby in the ending and not afraid to admit it. Maybe it's just me but I really enjoyed this one.

  • Virus 1999

    ★★★ Watched 24 Jul, 2014

Reminds me a lot from Alien. Great suspenseful scifithriller, though quite predictable plot and not much great twists. Great acting and good solid stuff but it's all been done before and after too many times. Not bad, not too great either.
