  • I Origins 2014

    ★★★★★ Watched 22 Dec, 2014

Man, I like thought-provoking films. Ending credits run over the same time the last teardrop over my cheek and I'm without words - why am I even crying? Can't begin on how great this film is. It is a wonderfest about our existence. But like I said, I'm without words right now. All I can say: watch it.

  • Coherence 2013

    ★★★★★ Watched 21 Dec, 2014

Wow, what a mind bender! I love these kind of films. The small setting reminds me of 12 Angry Men and The Man From Earth. The stuff happening reminds me of Triangle, which I loved by the way. Mostly dialoque, but what a terrific execution! Acting is all there and I really like seeing Maury Sterling, got used to him in Extant and Homeland.

What I like in these kind of films is that they keep you guessing, even after…

  • About Cherry 2012

    ★½ Watched 20 Dec, 2014

Boooriiing! Really almost fell asleep while watching this film. Most of it is predictable, stupid and unexplained. Didn't like the characters. James Franco's role fits well. Nothing much to tell or recall about this film, except some boobs and sideboobs. Skippable and instantly forgettable stuff.

  • Almost 18 2012

    ★★★½ Watched 14 Dec, 2014

They say Finnish films are all about cursing and drinking without any meaning. I've been meaning to watch Almost 18 for a long time, finally decided to sit it through. I'm happy to say I liked it. The film projects the life of five boys who are almost turning 18. There are the normal issues with parents but then also something not every teenager has to go through.

The atmosphere is all there. The brilliant soundtrack combined to atmospheric scenes…

  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 2014

    ★★★ Watched 14 Dec, 2014

Brilliant by its CGI, confusing by its plot. Really watchable and exciting as a movie, but don't like the adaptation very much. I thought this was supposed to be the planet of the APES. To be continued, I guess.

  • The Wind Rises 2013

    ★★★ Watched 30 Nov, 2014

I consider myself Hayao Miyazaki fan, but I'm one of those who prefer the fantasy content. As a biography this film is amazing, but in the other hand the category and Jiro Horikoshi is not that interesting to me personally. However, Miyazaki has said several times he likes flying theme, so it's obvious he wanted the flying to be present all times in his last film.

Visually great like the others, but reminded too much of Porco Rosso and in…

  • We Are What We Are 2013

    ★★★ Watched 17 Nov, 2014

Distressing atmosphere, good acting, grey scenery. I like this film merely because of its torturing atmosphere and the way it is shot. The pace is too slow, but the soundtrack really makes that up. Good, solid horror. Some parts had to watch with a wry face. Not sure about the ending though.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy 2014

    ★★★★★ Watched 16 Nov, 2014

Guardians of the Galaxy reminded me the feeling I had when saw Star Wars for the very first time. New unexplored galaxy with full of adventure. Back story was not familiar with me before but it didn't mind - on the contrary. Great and interesting characters, good story, visually brilliant. Great space fantasy film I can really recommend!

  • Bad Milo 2013

    ★★★ Watched 15 Nov, 2014

A very bizarre mindfuck-film. So 'bad' it's really funny. Laughed my ass off, if you know what I mean. For the circumstances I cannot praise the film, but I can say I liked it.

  • X-Men: Days of Future Past 2014

    ★★★½ Watched 15 Nov, 2014

Compelling, high quality scifi action. Maybe too much action for me and as much as I like time travelling this appeared as a bit clumsy for some reason. Evan Peters was awesome, really like him as an actor. Good fun. Over 2 hours felt like minutes.

  • The Quiet Ones 2014

    ★★ Watched 13 Nov, 2014

Dull, boring, unoriginal, slow. This film doesn't improve while watching. The actings is all right, the necessary steps are there, but it goes nowhere. I wanted to like this film, but it's overally disappointment. The Quiet Ones leaves some thought to the viewer, but that's not always a good thing. The film tries too much to be simple, but fails miserably to be anything.

  • Deliver Us from Evil 2014

    ★★★½ Watched 09 Nov, 2014

One of the best exorcism-films (they mostly suck) and I don't really know why. I liked the mix of crime and horror in this film. Eric Bana is great. Mood is incredibly 'evil'. Recommendably different.
