    The Gambler 2014

    ★★★½ Watched 26 Apr, 2015

Quite nice chrime thriller with a punch of drama. Gambling clichés, yet manageable plot. A little artsy cinematography, ironic and great soundtrack, thrilling gambling scenes and good acting. Not bad. Have liked Wyatt's films before and he didn't disappoint this time either. Very good little gambling film overall.

Boring. Nothing like the first one. Predictable and plain dull. Couple of cheap jump-scares, not worth it.

  • The Interview

    The Interview 2014

    ★★★ Watched 25 Apr, 2015

The film that went viral. Quite a political satire, but I'll stick to The Great Dictator. Humor is over the top and a bit clumsy at times, but quite laughable. Falls flat towards the end. Just 'okay', I guess. Had fun though.

    Grand Piano 2013

    ★★★ Watched 15 Apr, 2015

Solid thriller, but really just because of Elijah Wood. Nothing special, not enough twists or things to keep the viewer interested. I liked it, but may be so-so for the most of the viewers.

Mysterious film. Best to watch without knowing anything before watching, so best to keep this review short.

Interesting and original time travelling movie. Really liked Ethan Hawke, but previously quite unknown Sarah Snook was a real spark! Nice plot with twists. One of the films you can easily rewatch.

Great improvement when compared to Taken 2. Liam Neeson is great as usual and it's nice to see Maggie Grace for a while. Forest Whitaker has not been very great since The Last King of Scotland, but his performance is manageable in this film. Great thrills and action overall - not bad at all.

  • The Imitation Game

    The Imitation Game 2014

    ★★★★★ Watched 06 Apr, 2015

As a computer person I have always found Alan Turing fascinating. The Imitation Game portraits his most important work beautifully. The acting is witty, the atmosphere of those years are there and you can easily lose track of time just by watching this film.

I love the acting. Charles Dance's Tywin Lannister like character fits the film perfectly well. Well deserved Oscar for Best Writing and Adapted Screenplay. Highly recommended film.

  • Life After Beth

    Life After Beth 2014

    ★★★ Added

Not your average zombie film. Liked the black humor, despite the film being overally quite stupid. Maybe that being the point really. Acting is all there, really fan of Aubrey Plaza, Dane DeHaan and John C. Reilly, you can see the experience in these type of films. Decent, very watchable horror comedy flick.

Really, really bad. Missing authenticity in acting, which spoils the whole atmosphere. Filmed in iranian backyard. Hated every second, didn't sit it through with concentration.

Despite the decent acting, predictable from the start. The lousy plot makes this film barely watchable.

Interesting character, yet quite boring film. Really expected a lot and it seems the book would be much more interesting. This film went nowhere and the image painted of Cheryl Strayed could have been so much more. A bit disappointed, still a very watchable movie.
