The Hunger Games 2012
Gary Ross was hired to set the wheels of hollywood in motion, problem with Ross? his lack of emotional depth, but Hollywood couldnt care less.
"Hunger" is a well done job but fails to portrait the anguish of a dystopian society in wich the "game" is stablished by an oppressor state to maintain control by fear.
No sense of danger or grief whatsoever by seeing nearly 24 kids killing each other to survive.
More than a feast to satisfy hunger,…

A Fish Called Wanda 1988
Everytime I see this movie I enjoy a different characer. Chrichton´s movie is a nice blend of british and american comedy.
John Cleese and JamieLee Curtis with perfect comedic timing while Kevin Kline and Michael Palin add the slaptick and over the top humor.
Minor set back: 80´s overload.

Beginners 2011
Beginners is the little film that could! Less irreverent than Thumbsucker but full of wit with smart moments.
You are invited to witness an eternal adolescent coming to terms with his recently died gay father. Its a film about grief and mellancholia but this isnt a sad journey is weirdly funny and insightfull.
