Another winner for Mr. Ti West. Very effective. The slow build makes for many intense moments. I like that he isn't afraid to take his time.

Sara Paxton is very charming in this. Almost makes me want to watch Shark Night 3D.......almost.
Funny, I had exactly the opposite reaction! ( letterboxd.com/dirkhasselman/film/the-innkeepers/ ). I watched the house of the devil yesterday, which I found to be vastly superior!
While I agree that HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is a better film for sure, I really liked this. It just worked for me.
Good to see you liked this one, Mr. Pupkin. So much of the reaction has been lukewarm to negative I've held off until now, but now I think I'll have to see it.
Everett-Like I said, it's no HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, but I thought it was well done and effective for me.
I enjoyed the interaction between the characters so much that I didn't mind that the ghost gets sidelined for much of the film. West is excellent at developing believable characters which is rare in a horror filmmaker.
