I don't consider myself a PTA homer, but I was enthralled here, even as the movie descends into madness in the second half. Phoenix, PTA, and Adams all slay their roles (lock Phoenix in for Best Actor, good Lord), and the writing and imagery are carefully and artfully composed. If this movie isn't perfect, it's what imperfection should aspire to be.
