A meandering and boring action-adventure romp

A well done portrayal of life as a nun. Audrey Hepburn should have received an Oscar for her performance.

The style and atmosphere of the film just didn't work for me, but Maggie Smith and a young Helena Bonham Carter are great in it and it was interesting to see one of Daniel Day-Lewis' first roles.

Chaim Topol tries to save this film with a great lead performance, but the film never seems to decide what type of film it wants to be and ends up being an hour too long.
