Django Unchained 2012
Something must have happened at the cutting room....some things just don't add up from the interviews being made beforehand. Especially Walt Goggins role.....there's nothing but a two dimensional henchman left.
As for the movie itself, it's a western with influences of heroic bloodshed, wrapped around so much style there is little room for substance.
The acting is above board most of the time, but it's easy to see some of the main characters have been written with spesific actors in… -
The Avengers 2012
Funnier than I had imagined. A time well spent!

The Dark Knight Rises 2012
What's up with Bane sounding like Mel Gibson impersonating Sean Connery in What Women Want?
I half expected him to burst out "Bunsh of shteel? I'd shteel a bunch if I could".
That said, it wouldn't stick out in a rather uninspired script.
Don't feel like writing any thing else, a poor end to the franchise, full of cheesy lines and predictable actions. -
Looper 2012
First of all; if this is worthy of an R rating I'm a pink elephant. And, yes, I'm aware of the fact that a pair of tits usually scares the pants of the powers that be. Still doesn't justify it.
As for the movie itself, it's a nonsensical mess constructed for the sake of constructing. Taking time deconstructing the major plot events and you'll find gaping holes all over the place.
If that's not enough it gets boring after about 30 mins and stays that way until the end.
And don't get me started on JGL's face....
That Sid kid was cool, though. -
The Dark Knight 2008
The hype bothered me no end, but the action made that go away for a short while.

Silver Linings Playbook 2012
What it misses in comedy it gains in remarkable drama. Bradley Cooper shines as Pat jr, with Rob De Niro making a welcome return to form as Pat sr. Those two are by far the stand out points in an otherwise decent cast. Other than those two lighting up the screen it's the fine script that leads us on the way to what we all know is coming, but it never feels contrived.

Prometheus 2012
Had I known the screenwriters that gave us Cowboys & Aliens and The Darkest Hour were writing this, I doubt I would've bought a ticket. All in all, not the worst I've seen this year, but very far from the best, and that truly is a shame.

The Cabin in the Woods 2012
A bit slow at first, and not flawless, but once the fun really gets going it's a hell of a ride!

Zero Dark Thirty 2012
It's a great drama, but severely lacking in tension. And I'm not talking about how everyone knows the ending, it's more that it fails in the build-up.
Jessica Chastain's performance is thankfully capable of carrying the film on its' own, and running time never becomes an issue.
I think Bigelow tries to put a little too many faces into the mix maybe, without ever letting us get to know them and/or their reasoning, bar a few including Chastain and Clarke.…
