Chad Hill’s review:
For a movie with so much going on, it sure does a good job of making it all feel stale and boring. It pains me to say this, as I love both Jason Statham and Clive Owen, but they inhabit lifeless characters in an ultimately dull and convoluted actioner. A couple action scenes are somewhat thrilling, but largely lack punch. The film is well-directed and decently acted, but the characters aren't memorable at all. Good test of this: if your first instinct is to refer to a character by the actor who plays them, they probably weren't very strong. The script has too much happening with a healthy dose of cliche, over-written action-movie dialogue. Overall, it's more "amateur" than it is "elite."
