The Dark Knight Rises 2012
After seven years and three films, Nolan’s Batman journey is over. The question is, is The Dark Knight Rises the send off the trilogy deserves? Sadly the answer to that question is a crushing no. Having re-watched both previous films this week I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the weakest film of the trilogy, and to make things worse, it isn’t even a good film, period.

I Saw The Devil 2011
I love a good Korean revenge film. They've almost become their own genre now.
Personally I went into this film with quite high expectations, and was a bit disappointed. It's a beautifully shot film, that's intense and well acted, but ultimately felt a bit hollow for me. It didn't have the raw emotional impact of Sympathy for mr vengeance, or the stylish abstraction of Oldboy, but kind of strives to be both, with a healthy dose of torture porn thrown…

Captain America: The First Avenger 2011
One of the worst Superhero movies I have ever seen. The plot just keeps getting ridiculous as the movie progresses. If there is any consolation, it's beautifully shot. Other than that, there is not much worth saying. Avoid.

Synecdoche, New York 2008
This is one of those rare, amazing movies that I never, ever want to see again. I'm really glad I saw it, but once was plenty for me.
