Easy A 2010

For a film with the word "easy" right there in the title, this was a surprisingly difficult watch. It's horrendously over-written - every character talks entirely in lines that would've been cut from a Joss Whedon or Diablo Cody script for being over the top - and, ultimately, it's kind of hateful? Although you're supposed to think it's about overcoming teen prejudices, there are some pretty awful attitudes to sex and women in this film, and the gay and religious characters are the worst kind of stereotypes. Just watch Mean Girls again. Or Clueless. Both of those movies are about a thousand times better than this one.
WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE TOLD ME TO WATCH THIS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AWFUL MOVIE
Oh wow, I thought it was just me. I bailed on it half way through.
Haha, I don't blame you. I think I only stuck around to see if there'd be a point. :\
What Seb said.
Really? What did you like about it?
Mainly, the dream team of Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson as the parents. Loved their scenes. Agree with your problems with the themes and supporting characters, though - it totally falls apart as it goes along.
I loved this film, but I am a sucker for overwritten dialogue. In defence of the gay and religious characters, the screenwriter is a gay Christian. Which sounds like I'm making a fairly blunt joke, but he genuinely is.
That's just bizarre, then!
