Skyfall 2012

Daryl’s review:
Sam Mendes proves his Bond making credentials, and confirms his excellent film making credentials.
Skyfall certainly is an excellent film. The best Bond film in 48 years. This is a proper spy film, and James Bond, as a character is a proper spy.
As a Bond fan this film pleased me in every way. You have to hand it to the film makers, it takes massive balls to put a 4 minute title sequence 10 minutes into a massive film release these days, and this film has massive balls. And you know what?, it's an excellent title sequence. Even Adele's theme sounds massive. There are so many slightly contrived Bond fan pleasing moments, but those same slightly contrived Bond fan pleasing moments are BRILLIANT! And what about Bond?well, Daniel Craig is amazing. He has been in all 3, but he feels more like James Bond in this one I can't, and won't pick holes in any of the performances. Dench has rarely been better. This is the best acted Bond film ever. And talking about acting, Javier Bardem is outstanding. Pure evil, one of the great bad guys.
It's not only a great Bond film, unlike many others it is also a great film. Dark (What were you expecting?! an exploding pen?..), full of some outstanding action, and some great humour.
So all in all, best Bond film ever? Close. My favourite film of the year? You know, it may just be.
@Daryl, right you are. What did you rate Casino Royale?
@Miss T. Loved it I don't think I have rated it on here. 4th best Bond in my book!

Ah, I see. I need to rewatch all the old ones, I can't figure out which I have and have not seen. I know, I'm an embarrassment to the Bond-loving community..
Just watch Goldfinger and From Russia With Love. My two favourites.
And forget about the rest? But.. Alrighty then!
Well they are my Top 2. Goldeneye is also great.
I'll take your advice as always very wise Daryl.
Haha, hope you still say that afterwards! ;)
Of course! Never question the words of the great Daryl ;)
Just finished my 2nd viewing of Skyfall. It's still phenomenal. And this is still my most Liked review. Which means that many of you love it also. It really does deserve some more film making praise. It is so much more than what people think it is.
