Watchmen 2009

Daryl’s review:
Okay, it's not the graphic novel. But this is still an outstanding movie.
In my opinion the opening montage is one of the greatest scenes in cinema history. Top quality film making.
It could be said that perhaps this is a bit low on accessibility for the non-Watchmen initiated, however it is still smart, stylish and enjoyable enough for any movie fan.
I *need* to get hold of the Ultimate cut of this without spending $100s of dollars on an import blu....
The novel is one of the best things ever published on paper, let alone in the comic medium.
I'm sure I have it somewhere! If not I'll get myself a copy! Might read it before I watch the film again.....
@Jimbo Indeed! It was voted in the Time magazine top 100 Novels of ALL TIME!. I don't know much about this Ultimate cut. Will have to Google..
@Mike You should definitely do that!
@Daryl if you can find it cheaper than this I'll be amazed!
The Ultimate Cut is interesting, but I the Director's Cut is my preferred version of the film.
It does sound a helluva package! I don't think I will be purchasing though. You can take your chances on ebay for about £122..
I got the ultimate cut for 30 bucks when it came out now is out of print and cost around 150! wow..
The I love the Ultimate Cut is closes we will ever get to the graphic novel and for that I love it..
So it cuts in the other story, the name I can't remember, into the film?
Yeah, Tales of the Black Freighter and bits of Under the Hood from what I understand, so it's even closer to the structure of the comic books.
Cool. I will try aquire a copy too...
