  • Footloose 2011

    ★★★ Added

If you'd never seen the original FOOTLOOSE, the 2011 version is a totally serviceable teen dance flick with plenty of copycat charm.

  • Project X 2012

    ★★ Rewatched 03 Mar, 2012

"Project X" is like a lifetime of good and bad party memories thrown into one gigantic pile. It is a teenager to twenty-something's wet dream of irresponsible partying. It is a dart board of ideas but the trouble is, as crazy as the party gets out of control, it never seems that outrageous or totally over the top. Sure, some insane stuff happens, like a little person jumping out of an oven or a guy with a flame-thrower burning down…

  • Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 2011

    ★★★ Watched 17 Feb, 2012

There is some ferocious potential in the character of Ghost Rider but for one reason or another each live-action attempt has been hindered. "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" is a prime example Columbia has yet to embrace and allow the character to flourish as he should. This ridiculous installment hurts a little more considering directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor were hired and have the background to bring the right kind of edge to Johnny Blaze. In actuality, Neveldine/Taylor (as…

  • Chronicle 2012

    ★★★½ Watched 11 Feb, 2012

Our teenage years can be awkward. Not just the hormones and the changes our bodies are going through but the whole aspect of teen identity. That question we all ask ourselves, who am I and where do I fit in? For some, this part of life may come a little easier than others, but regardless we all go through it. "Chronicle" takes a interesting look at the question by focusing on three high school teens who form a friendship after…

  • The Endless Summer 1966

    ★★★★ Added

Instantly makes me wish I was at the beach.

  • RoboCop 2 1990

    ★★★½ Rewatched 09 Feb, 2012 1

Nuke! This flick is so silly, no where near the tone of the original but it still is so much fun.

  • Pina 2011

    ★★★★ Watched 01 Feb, 2012

Seducing to watch. Must be experienced in 3D. Wim Wenders and Hélène Louvart create tremendous depth with external locations. Choreography is transfixing to watch and the doc leaves the audience realizing how much Pina meant to her troop and the world of dance.

  • Zombieland 2009

    ★★★★ Added

"Zombieland" is a heaping good time. Director Ruben Fleischer put together a laugh-out-loud zombie comedy that is centered around two perfect characters played by Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg. Scene after scene in "Zombieland" tickles your funny bone, while also providing some great kills for traditional horror fans. "Zombieland" is fast paced, loaded with hysterical situations and a movie that instantly becomes one of my new favorites.

Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick deserve a ton of credit for writing…

  • Zack and Miri Make a Porno 2008

    ★★★ Added

Kevin Smith directs a hilarious story that has alot of heart mixed with some really side splitting smut. Clearly, with "Porno" in the title you know from the start your in for some nudity and raunchy humor, Smith however does a great job of not overloading the viewer with nudity and vulgarity. Instead, he relys heavily on a couple of his finer qualities of film making, dialogue and character development. Kevin Smith is a genius at writting dialogue that just…

  • Youth in Revolt 2009

    ★★★½ Added

Adapted from the popular C.D. Payne novel of the same name "Youth in Revolt" is a comical coming of age tale that does a solid job of capturing teenage emotion and angst. The teen comedy is filled with well timed laughs, hilarious scenarios and some quality performances from the entire cast.

Michael Cera delivers his best performance to date in dual roles. I am a fan of Cera, but have grown tired of his routine character. Luckily here in "Youth…

  • Your Highness 2011

    ★★½ Added

"Your Highness" is crass, juvenile and obscene. The comedy adventure is an acquired taste, meaning it is not for everyone (especially not kids or Roger Ebert) but amidst all the vulgarities it succeeds in playing parody to the fantasy genre of film. At its core, the Danny McBride written comedy is a simple spoof film. What makes this spoof comedy a tad bit out of the normal is that is doesn't have to label what it is riffing on. We've…

  • You Don't Mess With the Zohan 2008

    Added

You Don't Mess With the Zohan, directed by Dennis Dugan (Problem Child, Saving Silverman, and The Benchwarmers), feels like a film funnyman Adam Sandler would have made ten years ago. It is filled with very childish humor, laced with sexual innuendous, and the character seems far too similar to the likes of Waterboy, Billy Madison, and his old SNL characters Opera Boy or Canteen Boy. Zohan is filled with cheap laughs throughout, most which fall flat and is overall, only…
