It's been a long while since I watched this, but it packs no less a punch. I wonder if, twenty years from now, Edward's story will perfectly encapsulate Burton's career. Right now it feels like the director's just destroyed the curtains. Perhaps someday he'll be giving the town snow, far removed from its damaging influence.
