Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos 2011 ★★★★

Watched Jun 05, 2012

I absolutely adore both the original and Brotherhood series of this franchise, and this belongs alongside Conquerer of Shamballa as a good addition to the Elric Brothers storyline. It does drag in the middle but it's bookended by some great action scenes. There was a nagging sensation in my mind as to when this is placed within the saga as a whole but it didn't distract too much. The animation is the usual great standard expected with the greatness on show since Brotherhood. I've only watched the English dub and all characters are expertly played, it pleases me that the entire cast from the previous series and movie remain in all their roles here. I think only the kid playing Alphonse in the original series has been changed.
If you are a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist this is a must see, if you haven't seen any of this franchise you may struggle as the characters have been embedded in my mind through 60+ hours of storytelling and the explanation of the alchemy is non-existent here which is an important thing to miss out on as it tells us all we need to know about characters motives and actions.
But above all else, it's a good movie which I want to see more of, because as I've already stated, I love the world which this is contained in and I love all the people who inhabit it.
