When I watched Iron Man all those years ago and saw the stinger after the credits to reveal Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and thus revealing Marvels plans of an Avengers movie, I felt an enormous feeling of excitement tempered with a dose of trepidation. Every now and again one of those films crops up and treats it's audience like they have the capability of thought and the riches that thinking can bring. This is one such movie. Now don't get me wrong, I like that movie. It's pretty good. But is it really better than Pulp Fiction as the Academy would have us believe? No. Of course not. I suppose I shouldn't worry because, which of these films has stood the test of time? That's right.
When thinking about what to write for this review I realised that everything has already been said. And probably said better than I could possibly hope…
