Way too many problems to discuss here, so let me instead touch on what I liked:
-Anne Hathaway's rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream"
-Some decent production value
-Cast does seem to be giving it their best
Uh... that's about it.
Jay Cheel from the Film Junk podcast summed it up best:
"I wouldn't say I 'watched' Les Misérables. I kind of just sat in front of it and waited. And waited. And waited."
A lot to take in... could definitely see this going up on future rewatches.
In the love/hate debate over Prometheus, chalk me on the side of love. I walked out of the theater unsure of how I felt, but couldn't get the film out of my head for days. I love the big ideas the movie plays with and although there are nitpicks with respect to characters, I was fully immersed in Ridley Scott's return to science fiction.
