I liked the first Spider-Man, but this film kicks it's ass. Everything good about Spider-Man is better in Spider-Man 2. The sequence of Spider-Man's eventual return, from the diner scene to the daily bugle to the fight on the train is one of the best chunks of any superhero movie ever. Always love J.K. Simmons. J. Jonah Jameson isn't in the new film, and I assume it's because they knew they couldn't find anyone who would be as good. What I love about this film is that it feels like full on Sam Raimi. Doc Ock is a fantastic villain, and the puppetry used for his mechanical arms will look great until the end of time. If there's one good thing about The Amazing Spider-Man, its that it made me go back and rediscover just how much love this film.
