Terrible, but only George Lucas terrible. Even at their very worst the projects he's involved in tend to only sink as low as to be mediocre. Fans of the series probably have a lot to be rightfully angry about, but this was actually the first one I saw. There are plenty of memorably bad scenes that can be brought up in conversation with a single word and laughed about. There are some very cleverly written and shot scenes, but the overall plot is weak. Overused effects make many parts of the film seem cartoonish and inconsequential.
